The Evil Flu or Food Poisoning

I am opting for the determination that it was food poisoning, only because no one else has contracted it, yet. I know exactly what I ate to make my stomach turn. I was knocked off my feet for one full day. Bill had to keep checking on me all night long because I was camped out in the bathroom the entire night. I stayed close to a liquid diet yesterday as my stomach was still queasy, but today, all is well. Thank goodness. But Bill did get a dose of a day in the life of me. I had a full day that I couldn't get to yesterday. On top of work, which I had to call in sick for, I had to get the kids ready for school, make Bailey's lunch and snack, put bailey on the bus, take mia to school, head back to Bailey's school for centers, pick Mia up from school and then head back here as mia went to see madeline with her grandma. And all that was done before 11:30.

Scrubbing Bubbles Bathtub scrubber

I have found a new favorite cleaning product! I swear they should be paying me for this kind of advertising, but I love this bathtub scrubber. We take a LOT of baths at my house and the bubbles alwasys leave that soap scum film on the tub, but this little miracle wipe helps so much.

Happy Easter

Happy Easter and Happy Spring to you all. I am sure we will have more pictures taken soon. we have been so lax in taking pictures here in the powers house. even bill has commented on how we have no pictures since Christmas. At least this weekend with the holiday will prove for more pictures. (Let's hope)
Bill took Bailey to see Horton Hears a Whoo last weekend and I took Mia to see Depew Highschool's production on Beauty and the Beast. Highschool productions have a come a long way. This was really good and I am sure they spent a bundle on costumes. Mia sat surprisingly through the 3 hours of the show and loved it. She commented a few times on how certain songs weren't in the movie or how the beast looked different, but that is to be expected.
We are debating getting landscaping and a deck this year as our ground has settled so much over the winter. The back of our house seriously went down about 2 feet and we can see some of the drainage pipes. I imagine this happens with all new houses, but I can't see putting in a new deck or bushes and have them sucked into a bottomless pit. So we will probably wait until the fall or until early next spring. I guess that's the time you are supposed to plant things. Speaking of our house, we are finally getting a house next to us. I guess the papers were signed and the house should be up before summer. So happy as maybe we won't get hit with the wind like we get now. We live in a windtunnel.

Uncle Jim

Check out my closet rockstar uncle on youtube. Way to go Uncle Jim!!

Any chance we can have a warm up here?

It is COLD here. Now, if I checked my previous blog entries, I have probably said this like a million times, but today really is. We got a ton of snow and the wind is now starting to pick up. The snow drifts in front of my house are over Bailey's head. Bill is out there right now trying to snow blow the blowing snow.
That being said, Easter this year is in March. My problem with that is: I bought Mia this really cute Easter dress and it's probably going to be like 20 degrees below zero by the way the weather is going so far. I cannot justify putting her in a little dress with short sleeves and send her out to freeze. And the stores make it so tempting too. Seriously, why don't they make warmer Easter dresses? For goodness sakes we are hardly into spring and I see tank top dresses and little skirts. Boys are easy and I have said this FOREVER. Put on a pair of khakis and a dress shirt and you have EVERY holiday covered. So I think her Easter dress will be saved for her birthday dress and we will have to put something together that looks pastel-ly yet still provides warmth. And forget an Easter egg hunt outside. The kids would have to wear snowsuits and dig in the snow...

websites Part 2

So, I promised to update everyone on the websites I visit everyday. Now, I must warn you, there are a lot. But I can usually browse these during the day or while I am working. Some of them are very interesting. Some have saved me tons of money and some I just go to when I need a coupon or something. Oh, and I visit most of my favorite links on the side. Those are family and friends and provide some great reads if you get the chance.
Mommysavers - great website for current deals
The Goodyblog - from the writers at Parent's magazine
Cool Mom Picks - self explanatory
Because I said So - a really funny blog about day-to-day motherhood
My Semblance of Sanity - another mom blog
General Hospital Happenings - where I read all the spoilers for the upcoming weeks
In the Motherhood - if you've got a few minutes, watch some of these mini shows. they are so funny. and I recently submitted my embarrassing stories (the library thing and the doctor's)

That's all I can think of for now. Happy browsing!

Happy March!

March, in like a lion, out like a lamb, right? I am so over the snow. Yesterday we got a little reprieve and enjoyed a beautiful 65 degree day and today we are under an ice watch and it is really coming down. God knows when it will end.
I celebrated my 31st birthday yesterday. Now I am down to 9 years to complete my list. Lots to do. But I did come up with a topic for a book (one of the things on my list). Now I just have to start writing it. It will be more of a collection of stories.
Amelia is going through a separation anxiety thing right now. She's 3. I thought this thing happened at 10 months old or to someone who was like away from their parents all day or something, so I have come up with the "Independent Mia" chart. She will earn a sticker for going to her friends houses with no problem, school with no problem, dance and gymnastic and after 25 stickers, she will get a GameBoy game (or in our house, we like to call it a GameGirl). Now some may ask, geez, isn't 3 a little young for a gameboy (or gamegirl)? Yes, I believe it is, but Bailey somehow managed to convince us ( I mean me, he didn't have to really twist Bill's arm) that a Nintendo DS was the way to go and that "everyone has one". I secretly believe that he and Bill were plotting this all along, because I swear Bailey is his father's son. Hence, Bailey bought himself a DS and Mia inherited the gameboy (I mean, gamegirl).
That being said may house has officially become a high tech zone. HELP! What about the million dollars worth of toys upstairs carefully selected to stimulate the mind and encourage imagination? Between the computer and the game systems, my goodness. I downloaded a little time limit program for my computer the other day and I really like it so far. It is called ComputerTime. The thing I like about it is that I can set a certain time limit for the day for each child for the computer, select time limit intervals, how much time between each interval and when the computer is off limits for them. It's really neat and anyone looking for something like this should definitely download the trial version.
