Cold and Snowy

It has been so cold here. It could be that we are in a wind tunnel, but it is still really cold. I think because we are the first house on the street (so far), we get all the wind first and then it whips by all our neighbors. The only good thing is that we haven't lost any pieces of roof or siding yet. Although we do have a running list of fix-it things for Marrano to complete.
I am trying to convince Bill about a trip to Florida this year. We were going to do one last year, and then we had the move, so this is the year (at least, I hope). I am sure the kids would love it. I know I would. So I am thinking a May or September vacation sound great.
I am almost through week 2 of training and so far so good. I am a little nervous about getting on the phone for real. I am sure I will update everyone on the crazy calls I get. For instance, my first call started with a man saying, "I did a real bad thing..." Obviously he must have because he ordered over $170 worth of flowers...

new job

So, I finally found an at-home job! After a long time searching, my friend told me that she was hired through 1-800-flowers to take customer service calls, so I figured I should just apply. I am nearing the end of week 1 of training and have to say that it is going well. They are open 24 hours, so I can really pick anytime to work and I have to work only 6-10 hours a week. depending on how much I love it, I may quit the law firm and stay home all the time now, this would be a big help to bill as he tells me.

The WORST Show EVER!

Does anyone seriously screen kids tv shows? My niece and nephew (both under 1 year old) are mesmerized by this worthless show called Yo Gabba Gabba. Every time it is on, I just cannot understand what attracts them to it. Maybe all the flashy colors. Maybe the fact that Biz Markie makes a special appearance on the show. Yes, I did say Biz Markie. Who knows... What is even stranger is I put this show on for them when they come over, making me an enabler. Take a peek at this show. I also had a great video clip of my sister singing this song as I video'd her from my cell phone. Now, if only I knew how to put that on my website.

Happy New Year!

We had a nonstop action packed Christmas season and we can finally all just sit back and relax. I was so over Christmas by the time Christmas day came that the tree came down Christmas day night and Bill happily tossed it out the back door. The kids received so many things that many haven't even been opened yet. Bill's father was in the weekend before, then we hosted Bill's family here Christmas eve and my family Christmas Morning.
I finally mde it up until midnight on new years, but was in bed before 12:15. I know it's pathtic, but even more pathetic was the fact that I had to work and the boss hadn't shut down the office for the night. The wonderful part of being just a parttime worker. But needless to say I am starting my new at-home job next week and greatly looking forward to it. I will be working with 1-800-flowers as an at home rep and from of the looks of it, it looks pretty interesting. Hopefully this will give me some spending money for myself and a very flexible home schedule.
I guess I will a part of the probably 75% of people this year with the resolution to get into shpae. Bill bought us a treadmill before Christmas, so that will be my goal. Now, I have to get myself into the basement to do this. I have also resolved to have my son's lunch packed for him the night before so I am not running around like a loon in the morning.
Speaking of Bailey, Christmas must have really worn him out as he fell asleep on the bus ride home yesterday. He is the last stop, so when the bus driver, Mrs. Val, stoppepd in front of my house, she kinda shrugged her shoulders as if she ddin't know where he was. Finally she put the bus in park and walked to his seat to see him sleeping in the back.
I never did get around to posting my 40 things to do before I turn 40, but I still would like to add more as I think I only have half that amount. I will post that later or tomorrow...
