The Big Dig!

Wow, 3 posts in 2 days. Just wanted to update everyone as our house is underway! I happen to pass by yesterday and saw the commotion occurring on our new property and sure enough the dig has begun. Bill went by again last night to get some pictures. Our neighbors houses have also been dug and footers have been poured, so I imagine the frame will probably be up in a week or two. Yeah!!! And here is a picture of a very expensive hole in the ground.

Amelia...published!

So, if anyone can remember, Bailey was published in a potty training book a few months ago. Well, low and behold, the author has published a discipline book and Amelia is in it! The book is called "The no cry discipline solution book" by Elizabeth Pantley. Amelia (in her princess dress and tiara, of course) is on page 208. So if you happen to pass a borders or a Barnes and nobles or any other book store for that matter, check out my little star...

and so the dig begins...

One of the parents from Bailey's school built from the same builder as us a few years ago. I mentioned how they were supposed to call us before they start to dig and he said he never got a phone call like that and maybe I should do a drive by check, so off I went. Sure enough, the ground was leveled. the trees are gone and they are just about to start. Bill and I did another quick drive there yesterday and they have the house staked out. So I am anticipating the dig to begin this week. We also met another new neighbor who has lived in the neighborhood since Thanksgiving and says the area is great.
This is the last week of preschool for my little man. He has graduation on Friday and has been learning his line for the graduation thing they are doing.
Gymnastics is over and Mia has informed me she wants to be a ballerina again. I am looking into a short community ed program to get her into to see if she really is interested. Both of the kids started soccer. Bailey is on the smallest of the "real" teams and Mia is on the skill session team. Although they don't keep score at Bailey's team, he scored a goal on his first game on a penalty shot last week. Watching 4 year olds who have no idea what they are doing play is hysteical. Mia complains every week that she wants to be on the big team.
So Bill will post pictures soon of gymnastics and the house. More updates soon.

Updates!

So we are in the packing stages and it is horrible. We thought we were smart and got the biggest storage unit for our house (10x20) only to find out we have not yet put in any furniture and it is PACKED. So we have to rent another one for the rest of the stuff we have. Fortunately we are having a garage sale this weekend to unload some of our stuff (and probably buy more stuff).

Back to the house (can you tell we are excited?). We went to our 3 hour meeting to pick everything out. I have to say I was sick to my stomach on the ride there. We had so many decisions to make and these decisions (although most not permanent) will stay with the house for years. But I was getting better towards the end and was picking things out without even thinking about them. Bill took pictures. The picture are of the counter top (the small sample), the floor, and the cabinet. Here is a picture of our kitchen selections:

And the kids and our bathrooms. Notice the kids doesn't have the counter sample because we went with a kid themed one and it wasn't on display:

And a quick view of the outside of our house. Now this isn't our official house (because ours is not built yet) but this is the same model as our house and I LOVED the colors of this house, so I copied them. And no, this house is not in our development so there will not be 2 houses exactly the same. So this picture is really how our finished house will look.

They should be breaking ground any day. We will update the process for anyone who cares. Now, back to packing....
