Amelia - PIERCED

So yesterday was a big day for Mia - SHE GOT HER EARS PIERCED! And she did wonderful... She didn't cry or even flinch when they were done. There were 2 girls doing them at the same time and she did great. She picked out pretty pink flowers and that is all she's been talking about. What a big girl...

Bailey - PUBLISHED

For those of you who don’t know, Bill and I have been test parents for an author for her discipline book that she was writing. Long story on how we got involved, but she is not local and we just happen to come upon this. So for the past year, she has been sending us her writing and we (along with 100 other parents) read it, and try to use some of her methods and report back to her. During this she decided to also write a potty training book. A few times she called for pictures from all the test parents and so we sent in like 20 pictures of the kids together and alone. So we get the email from her, and Bailey made it into the potty training book and we believe Mia is in the discipline book.
While shopping at borders I decided to take a look to see if it was there, and it was! And he is in there!!!!!!! Almost a full page. Link to Amazon. So, if you happen to be milling around a book store and find Elizabeth Pantley's book on The no cry potty training book, flip to page 53 and there's my guy...

Pinky Dinky Doo and Woody

So the costumes are all set and the first party is tonight. I will post pictures later. I originally bought a pink wig for Mia, but I feel that there will be a problem with that, so we haev switched to pink hairspray. Bailey's costume from the disney store came in and he is super excited.

After watching Ellen (a show I am obsessed with almost 2nd to oprah in talk shows) I have decided to create my life list. This is a goal of hers, to have many people to make their life lists and you can even send them into her and she may grant some wishes. Basically it's things you want to do by a certain time in your life. I have decided I will do these things before I am 40, so everyone suggested I have 40 things. I am still compiling, but once I have the list, I will post it in case someone can help me fulfill a few things. Basically I have ballroom dance lessons and hot air balloon ride stuff on there, so you get the idea. It makes you think. Try it, I highly recommend it.
Bill took a sick day today because he is really sick. But I have realized that a man being sick is about 5 times worse than any woman. Bailey had something similar a week and half ago and it was "just viral" according tot he doctor, so I know this is something similar.
The worst part about fall, and it is my favorite season, is the mud. Especially with dogs. I have the carpet cleaner guy coming agian this week... Freeze mud, freeze.

And so the Kowalewski family gets bigger...

Kristy and Mike are expecting there 2nd child in February, I am pretty sure I updated everyone about that, but the newest news is that
Heather and Doug are now expecting!
That will bring the number of grandkids for my parents to 5!
Hopefully Heather will not have to share the hospital with about a million other women having babies that probably occurred during this October Storm.

POWER!!!

We have power! We finally got it at 4pm yesterday. Seriously, I never realized how much I loved light until I lost it. Thank you NYSEG.

A generator... Thanks to Gregg

So we now have heat and a working sump pump thanks to our dear friend Gregg who offered up his after his power was restored at about 6pm last night. So last night was the first night in our house with heat. We are still our of power, so that means no computer, no phones (we have only cordless) and no refrigerator. Add to that a nasty viral infection for both of the kids and we are whipped. Bill went to work today and I (barring the driving ban) will go in tonight. Aside from that we are surviving.
Wehave learned how to make coffee without a coffee pot and many things thought impossible before. The kids have started to get accustomed to taking a bath in the dark with a few candles to set the mood and jumping out to freezing temps.
So we are making it. Just wanted to let everyone know, that we are okay...

Pictures in the Park

We have been taking pictures of the kids every year at the Park wearing grown up clothes. The same ones every year in the same place in the park. Mia wears a dress that I have worn and Bailey wears a tie and shirt of his daddys. I got the idea from an Oprah show where a woman did this every year to see her children grow into the clothes. She had them beautifully displayed in her home, but because I can barely put one on the wall, they are sitting in my computer for the time being until I can find the time and the frames to put them in. So I thought I would shaere. Amelia has 2 - one from last year (her first birthday) and one from this year. And Bailey has 4!
