Baby, it's cold outside...

I cannot believe how cold it is out there today. Although I was smarter and dressed the kids accordingly. But I just can't believe that the winter is almost here.
My goodness, I must stop shopping. I think once I got the idea of a few extra bucks in my pocket, it has gone downhill. I am always shopping, but it does feel great.
Today starts my Mom's Panel at Fisher Price. I know this will be worth it, especially since I will be at FP every week for 7 weeks so I can knock out some more Christmas shopping.
Bailey got his first scholastic book order today and I can't wait to look through it. I still remember ordering them for myself when I was little.

Another weekend gone...

This weekend was really a relaxing weekend. We had no big plans, but we still managed to not do the things we need to get done (paint, clean...) So we are back to the work week and almost to the start of October.
Bill's birthday is next week, and after reading his posts to the blog realized that a good birthday gift would be guitar lessons, so low and behold, he starts them on his birthday, October 5th. I purchased 2 months of lessons and, by golly, if he can't play "Row, Row, Row your Boat" at the end of those 2 months, they are over!
My father goes in for his surgery tomorrow for his hernia. It should be a quick surgery and a month recovery time. Time off that he well needs.
Kristy is due in 3 weeks. This is her last week of work, and I am sure that she will be late. Can I make a bet on the date? I am saying October 21st and Lucy will weigh 7lbs, 14oz.
Heather is busy making her wedding plans and her wedding dress has come in. She hasn't enlisted the help of the world's best wedding planner yet, but maybe some day she will need me for something.
Bailey has school again this week and zoo school and HEather will (thankfully) watch Mia during zoo school. It is near to impossible to keep track of Bailey with Mia running around Cub Club.
More pictures will be posted soon. I have to get Bill on that...

The weather is changing

Today, I thought it was going to be nice and sunny. The weather said 74 degrees for a high today, so I sent Bailey to school in shorts and a polo. I noticed what a big mistake it was when I brought him in and everyone was wearing jackets.
I have started my x-mas shopping like mad. I think Mia's big gift this year will be a radio flyer horse thing and I am still thinking about Bailey.
My job is going great and I really like getting out for a few hours every week. The people are great and there is lots of work (I work in bankruptcies) so time goes by really fast. Perfect for a little break and a little pocket money.
Bailey is going to be Buzz Lightyear for Halloween this year and Mia will be a witch. They are both really cute costumes. Bailey loves his so much that he sits around in it all day, but it is like a plastic-y material and he sweats to holy heaven while he wears it. Mia has a hard time keeping her hat on. Although I did just buy here a pancho and matching hat the otherday and she wouldn't take either off.
Right now I am reading the book, Easy to Love, Difficult to Discipline and hoping for instant turna round in the discipline department. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Wallpaper

Although this may mean nothing to most of you, Bill was the one who took all the wallpaper down. (There Bill, now I didn't take any credit for it!)

Happy Anniversary

Well, yesterday was our 4th year anniversary. Tonight we are going to dinner and a movie. Bill suggested Mangia in Orchard Park, so we'll see how that is. For the movie, I am up in the air on Proof or A lot like Heaven.
The Cub Club at the zoo was a lot of fun. Bailey learned all about animals that began with the letter A. He got to touch a turtle (not quite sure how that fit into the A thing) and made anthills with ants to eat (really neat project).
Yesterday was his first day of preschool without me and he never looked back. I walked him in, found some playdoh, and forget it, he didn't even know if I was there or not. A quick kiss and I left. He really liked it. Of course, when I asked him what he had for snack, he tld me "chicken nuggets," even though I know he had ice cream

First day of school

Bailey had his first day of school yesterday. He did really well. In the morning, my parents and sister Heather stopped over to see him off. He walked out of the house with his little backpack on full of his new school supplies. He is going to St. John's preschool. Bill went there when he was little, but they have since revamped the entire program and now it is a great educational setting. He has 17 kids in the class and 3 teachers. I've already signed up for the Christmas party.
On another note, our 4 year anniversary is this Thursday. Bill got his Bill's jersey, I got a new cell phone and hand free thing. We will do dinner this weekend.
So my cell phone handfree thing is pretty neat. It's one of those bluetooth things. I just like it because it has no crazy wires and it talks to me and asks me what I want to do.
Bailey got his Buzz Lightyear costume this week and we cought Mia a little witch costume. Bailey has put that costume on so many times, I hope it makes it to Halloween. We are taking them both out trick or treating this year. Every year we usually take them to close relatives houses to show off their costumes, but this year we have opted for the trick or treating route. So, if anyone is interested in seeing their costumes, you can either stop over here either late HAlloween afternoon, or catch the pictures online.
Today starts Cub Club at the Buffalo Zoo. Bailey doesn't "get it" yet, but I am sure he will have a ball. Now I have to decide what I am going to do with Mia for that hour.
I went to the BAC yesterday to try and possibly join. Gym salespeople are the WORST. My sister has a membership she will hand over to me from Gold's for $24.00 a month, so why would I pay $55 a month to switch to the BAC? They are right across the street from one another. The girl there would not give me a break and finally I just had to leave. She has since been calling me every opportunity she gets. I think I will just have to take the Gold's membership.

September!

We have a first day of school tomorrow! Bailey will be starting preschool tomorrow morning. I think he is excited. Today we have a playdate to meet a little girl in his class so that he can recgonize at least one other person there. I am hoping for no tears, both from Bill and I and from Bailey. I am sure he will do fine though. HE goes Tuesdays and Thursdays. This is the beginning of 25 or so long years of school.
Then he starts the zoo's Cub Club on wednesday. We decided on this for his playgroup outing because all of Bailey's friends are starting school and we wanted to keep the playgroup alive. Of course, we will have all of our seconds playing together soon. We are just waiting for Melissa's little one and then everyone will have a brother or sister to carry on the playgroup.
Bill's NFL pick'em thing ended the very first week for me. I guess Green Bay wasn't such a good pick. But there wasn't good picks for a lot of people as 16 out of the 25 that started were booted yesterday.
This Thursday is our 4 year wedding anniversary. I think we will do dinner or something on Friday.
We also signed up for a couple's bowling league. It is once a month which is good becasue I can't see myself commiting to BOWLING more than that.

Bailey's 3rd Birthday!

Mark my words, I will never have another birthday party at my house again. This year, I decided to have the party out. We have around 20 people family-wise and after all the preparations, cleaning, cooking, and so one, everyone staying about 2 hours just isn't worth it to me. So this year, we had the party at Buca diBeppo's. They did a WONDERFUL job. The fod was good, I didn't stress out and Bailey had a great party.
That being said, my little guy is 3! We took him to the doctor yesterday and he is growing like a weed. He is 40 inches tall and 36 pounds. The doctor asked where he got his height from as it is obviously not from me.
School starts next week for Bailey and I am trying to prepare him for it. Hopefully he will do okay. We go to the parent teacher meeting on Friday.
Amelia is adding to her vocabulary with "hot," "cookie," and "more." She eats better than Bailey.
