Well, this is an important reminder to save everything that you create. The company that hosted our blog shut down, without previous warning and took with them all my posts from about 6 months. Bill reuploaded what he could, but there is so much I have lost. So the moral of this sad story is SAVE EVERYTHING SOMEWHERE…
We had an awesome evening birthday party for Bailey last night. He got a ton of great gifts! We have a VERY generous family, but I think his favorite gift was his new iphone from us. We figured he was going into middle school this year and because we couldn’t find a phone without a data plan, we may as well stick to what we know, so an iphone it was. And here is his reaction.
We did it! Bailey got his braces! And the great people at Owl Orthodontics took great care of him! Here’s to 21 months on teeth straightening! Here’s our before and after shot…
The fam did The Color Run last weekend. It was awesome! The weather was great, the colors were awesome, the kids did excellent. Here are our before and after shots.
WE are sooooooooo excited for next summer to roll around as we are heading to EUROPE! Yeah!!!!!!!!!! We are spending a few days in Paris and then jumping aboard a Royal Caribbean cruise in Barcelona and spending 8 days on there. Super excited! I have been to western Europe a lifetime ago and the rest of the fam has not. The kids are most excited about the boat. We rationalized a cruise since we will have a traveling hotel take us to all the major hotspots that we want to travel to. Take a look at the Allure of the Seas. It’s gigantic!
I guess 18 floors, an ice rink, rock walls, zip lines, a diving show and so much more really is exciting. Will we ever get the kids off the boat????
We are mostly finished with the bedroom. I do have to add a possible desk and work on getting the closet together, but the painting and the furniture are DONE! Yeah!
We totally loved the hexagon shelves, we found on pinterest and painted them the exact same colors. They were PERFECT! We are pleased with the way it turned out.
We have been busy busy with the projects in the Powers house! We are or have been trying to get Bailey’s room done. Don’t get me wrong, I LOVED his room. I think abercrombie everytime I think of it, but alas, he wanted something different. SO here is a before shot.
So while on our vacation to NC, we saw an awesome table at Bill’s Dad’s house and I knew I just had to have it. Bill found the plans online and he got started. He used the plans here and then modified them to make a lower shelf. I LOVE IT!
So we started with this…
Moved along to this…
And ended with this beauty!
We typically don’t do anything small in the Powers Family. That being said, when we planned to go horse back riding when we went down to North Carolina an hour wasn’t good enough. Bring on the 3 hour hour Horse Ride.
Sandy Bottom Trail Rides called our name. Take horses and combine that with gem mining and we are totally there! The views were spectacular! The horses were great. We climbed high up the mountains, and then traveled back down. It was awesome!
Our guide reminded us of Jim Tom from the show Moonshiners. Do you know who I am talking about?
So, if you are in Asheville, take the scenic 3 hour horse ride at Sandy Bottom Trail Rides. We really recommend it!
