Sorry, it’s been a while…

Now I know I go on and on about remembering to blog and I swear I am not trying to be neglectful.  But where has the time gone?Tonight I found a few minutes because as I sit here I am fully gym clothed, but my Monday night spin class was completely full so I had to miss.  Is that a good thing or a bad thing.  Last week I took a class so hard that I couldn’t walk for 3 days.  Oh the joys of the gym.  Let’s just hope some more people fall off their resolutions so I can get a bike for next class.

Christmas Lights

It seems as though Bill’s Christmas Light Spectacular is getting a lot of attention this season.  Mainly because he added a Sabres song this year and the Sabres got wind of the event.  Actually, it was played on the Jumbotron during one of the home games.  This makes my husband REALLY happy.  We’ve had a lot of views of the lights on youtube and the computer nerd that he is set up a facebook page for the lights as well.  It is a nice display of lights, the songs are all upbeat and mostly Christmas-y.  As long as the neighbors are okay with the cars stopping and watching while parked in front of their houses, I’m okay with that…  So here is the song getting the most attention and the rest are on the FB Powers Lights Page or youtube

Bundle Up Bash

Today I treated my mom and sisters to some fun at Old Navy!  I was chosen through Old Navy and CrowdTap for their BundleUp Bash.  Who doesn’t like a brand new outfit from Old Navy, especially if it’s free????  So we drove there this morning and pretty much had the place to ourselves.  There were so many sweaters to choose from.  I am a BIG cardigan fan, so I was leaning towards them and surprise, surprise that is what I got!!  I had the holidays in mind as I was picking out my outfit and the cold Buffalo weather in mind as I was choosing my winter accessory.  I ended up with a fab infinity scarf in black and white and gray.  My mom found pants she LOVED and even bought another pair in another color.  A must for my sweater was a cami underneath and sparkly one was even better.  Thanks CrowdTap and Old Navy!  You made our holiday shopping trip even jollier!

Randomness

Why does it seem like the life class was so short.  The class is inspiring and really got me thinking.  Of course, this hasn’t helped me figure out what I want to do with my life yet.  If you haven’t watched it, it is on OWN network and it is AWESOME!

We have had a busy few weeks here in the Powers House.  And the holidays, they are approaching.  I am out of ideas for the kiddos and I need to get my gameface on and get out there and start shopping.  I will get it done, I will get it done…

Old navy and CrowdTap

And yet another reason to profess my love of being on the style council of CrowdTap and Old Navy!  This month I had the opportunity to try out the Old Navy workout clothes for me and my workout buddy.  I chose my friend Renee, because we go to the gym together so often every week and taking spinning classes.  We are also both signed up to do the Turkey Trot this year.  I have been training to run the 8K, but I am definitely not a runner.  Anyway, we were able to choose any compression style bottom and any Active Top!  So many to choose from.  Renee wanted something neon so she could be seen throughout the race, but ended up going with something in all black.  I just wanted the thumbholes in my jacket!  LOVE THIS!  The pants are so great!  They hug in all the right places and actually keep my wamr without overheating!  Thanks again Old Navy and CrowdTap!  You guys continue to make me and my friends happy!!!!  SO here are our outfits!!!

We’re back!

Well, we’ve been back, but I am lacking in posting AGAIN!  I swear I would not know what to do with myself if I had a normal job.  I always feel so busy.  So we had a BLAST!  I know I promised that I would post the video of the kids on the morning of with us telling them that we were going, but ummmm it was a little disappointing.  I expected the jumping up and down screaming excitement that 2 kids could give us as we just surprised them with a trip to the Happiest Place on Earth, but alas, it wasn’t like that. I mean they were thrilled, but just smiling happy.  I was the fool crying and excited telling them.  I also realized that my kids are afraid of their own shadows and would not try anything that they thought was too scary and that Bailey throws his hands over his ears when he is scared and Mia just screams and cries when she is.  I am only putting this out there so in the future when we do get to go on The Haunted Mansion at WDW or even Snow White’s Scary Adventures, they can see how foolish they were being in 2011.  But we had so much fun!  I saw my great friend Melanie and her beautiful family and her gorgeous home while we were there.  I saw some former College Programmers and dear friends of mine, Patrick and Lindsey and got to reminisce of the place where we met and worked.  It was great.  I will try to learned how to upload all the pictures, but for now.

Disney World, here we come!

Tomorrow is the big day!  It is still a big surprise in the Powers household that we are even going to Disney World.  Guess the kiddos will find out tomorrow.  I will be sure to post their reactions as I am definetly videoing that.  Bill will be running in the Wine and Dine Half Marathon and the Kids are running in the Kids’ Races.  And me, I will be watching them.  I am saving my running skills for the Turkey Trot here in Buffalo.  We already have lots planned while we are there including meeting up with my good friend, Melanie and her family.  Bill and Mel are running the half.  Yeah!  Also I am meeting some former college programers/good friends down there too.  Patrick and Lindsey will be making the trip to have a little Disney reunion.  Can’t wait! This picture was from our last trip in 2008!

Ellen Update

Well, I rec’d the letter from Ellen detailing my 2 guaranteed tickets for her October 3rd show.  I think I cried a little inside when I finally realized that I wasn’t going to be sitting in her audience for the show that day.  But, I was going on vacation to DISNEY, I mean snap out of it (this is what I was telling myself).  I called the cancellation number and had to leave a message to Katie.  I asked her to call me back, deep down in my heart I was hoping she would give me another date option.  She called me back, but just to confirm, not to offer.  It’s okay.  My name will get picked again (I hope).  It helps to be optimistic, right?
